Mission Coop Appeal

MISSION COOPERATION PLAN

Every year in the summer the Mission Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago facilitates the Mission Cooperation Plan. Usually, missionary representatives visit churches on a particular weekend to speak and appeal for donations. This year because of the coronavirus, travel is virtually impossible for missionary representatives to visit churches.

Since in-person appeals are not possible each parish is asked to select a mission cause that fits the interests and concerns of the community.

Old St. Mary’s has chosen the Daughters of Mary-Tabora in Tanzania.  You will recall The Archdiocese of Tabora in Tanzania is where Fr. Patrick Bergin begins his priestly ministry.

The Daughters of Mary-Tabora (CDMT) is a Diocesan Religious Congregation of women. Each member of the community engages in a variety of different activities such as health care, education, pastoral ministry, social work, and the development of women and youth in 8 Dioceses in Tanzania.

On the weekend of August 1st  and 2nd  there will be a special collection for the Mission Appeal.

If you come to Mass that weekend, please place your donation in an envelope marked Mission Appeal or place Mission Appeal on the memo line of your check.

If you wish to donate online you can use Give Central from our website. Just click the following link. MISSION APPEAL – Daughters of Mary
