Pope Francis’ Message on Climate Change
On October 4th, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Pope Francis issued a follow-up letter to his 2015 encyclical concerning the environment, Laudato Si. Titled Laudate Deum (Praise God), the Pope says that with the passage of time since his encyclical regarding our “common home” he has “realized that our responses have not been adequate”. It’s important that all of us—the entire Church—read, reflect, and act on the Pope’s very readable ten-page letter.
