Pastor’s Message

Welcome to

Old St. Mary’s

in Chicago’s South Loop

People will tell me, “this doesn’t look like an “Old” St. Mary.” Usually when I say this is our sixth incarnation, it becomes clearer – this is a Church that has adapted with the times.

We welcome you all!

And we still continue to adapt and change and grow. In this wintertime, as we remember the Incarnation of Jesus, and look forward to new starts in the New Year, the sense of a Church learning new ways to grow and share faith inspires us to consider what it means to be people of faith in a hurting world. Will you come and share our journey?

Regular Masses on the Weekends, Saturdays at 5, Sundays at 8 and 11 am and 4 pm. Weekday Mass is at 8:30 am Monday through Friday. Children’s Liturgy of the Word is at the 11 am Mass. OCIA dismissals at the 8 am.

Open Gym for children and families of the parish is on Sunday afternoon from 12:30 to 3:45. And most of our Masses have some form of hospitality after them – and we welcome new people to help with that.

This January, we have a special night for you and all those interested in taking our parish further in faith and ministry than we have yet to go. Monday, January 22 at 6 pm we will have a parish Town Hall meeting in the church. We especially welcome new parishioners, exploring parishioners, and parishioners who have not yet found their niche. Always, we begin again. Always, Christ is newly incarnated in the world through us.

Check around the parish website for everything else going on!

Again – WELCOME!
