I’ve been a parishioner at Old St. Mary’s for six years and am currently serving my fifth year on the parish council. Originally from St. Louis, I moved to Chicago over 40 years ago. A graduate of the University of Chicago, I’ve worked in finance throughout my career.

Married and the proud father of three children, I am committed to supporting the growth and vitality of Old St. Mary’s as a place of worship, community, and outreach. My hope is that my leadership on the parish council reflects my dedication to fostering a strong, welcoming environment for all parishioners.

Katie Ellis

Vice Chair

I joined Old St. Mary’s when I moved to the South Loop in 2011. I started getting involved by helping with baptisms at Saturday Mass, then became a catechist in Sunday Faith Formation.

My husband, Josh, and I have two wonderful kids, Evelyn and Xavier. I am continually inspired by the faith and generosity shared in this parish.

James Gross

Originally from Chester, Illinois, I moved to the South Loop in 2008 after studying Finance at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. My wife and I were married at Old St. Mary’s in 2012, and our son was baptized here in 2022.

Becoming a father, especially experiencing my son’s baptism, sparked a deeper desire to grow in faith and serve, which led me to join the Parish Pastoral Council.

Brent Zey

As a member of the Parish Pastoral Council, I am eager to connect with and serve our vibrant community. My experience as a Senior Software Engineer helps me bring strategic planning and problem-solving skills to the council.

I am passionate about shaping the parish’s vision and fostering meaningful relationships. In my spare time, I enjoy specialty coffee, travel, and photography.

Angie Campone

My husband, Tom, and I have been OSM parishioners and South Loop residents for more than 18 years. This is our ninth year as proud OSM school parents.

I am excited to work with Fr. Rich and the council and contribute to the continued growth, engagement, and vitality of our special parish community.

Matt Smith

My wife Katie and I are the parents of an OSM Parish School seventh grader, Dylan. Our family has been part of the OSM community since Dylan started in Pre-K3 in 2016.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to support the parish and school community. Old St. Mary’s is an incredibly special and welcoming faith community that helps people know the love and care of God.

Emmanuelle Rousseau-Osial

I joined Old St. Mary’s when my husband and I moved across the street from the church ten years ago. We now have three children, including two at OSM.

I have been involved as a catechist in Sunday Faith Formation and a school volunteer. I am excited to serve in my first year on the council and continue the work of this amazing community.

Christine Taylo

Having been part of OSM since 2001, I feel strongly that this community has played a formative role in my upbringing. I work at the University of Chicago and volunteer as Director of Communications for the PUSO Foundation.

I value service, leadership, and fostering an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and valued.

Sophia Allen

My husband, John, and I started attending Old St. Mary’s when we moved to Chicago in 2019. This church has been a constant for us through life’s many transitions.

I am honored to learn about the hopes, dreams, fears, and concerns of our parish, and to help shape OSM into a place where we all feel safe and welcome to explore God’s endless love.

Ivan Settimba

I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on the Parish Pastoral Council at Old St. Mary’s. I have been a parishioner at OSM for five years and, as a South Loop resident, I have come to appreciate the parish as both a place of worship and a meaningful community in the heart of Chicago.

My hope in joining the Parish Pastoral Council is to support the continued growth and vitality of Old St. Mary’s as a welcoming, thoughtful, and faith-filled community. I am especially interested in helping strengthen parish life, foster deeper connection among parishioners, and ensure that OSM remains a place where people feel invited to worship, serve, question, and grow in their relationship with God.

I’m thrilled to be serving as pastor of Old St. Mary’s since July 2024. I was ordained with the Paulist Fathers in 2012 and have served in Knoxville, Austin, and Boston.

The monthly PPC meeting is my favorite meeting of the month. Together, we dream about how best to build a community of missionary disciples.
