Volunteers Needed

Looking to provide a helping hand.  Here are some places that are regularly seeking assistance:

  • St. James Food Pantry

St. James Food Pantry needs weekday volunteers to assist in registering clients. Days and times are listed below. Involves face to face with clients and requires basic computer skills.

Tuesdays, 8:30 am to 11:45 am or 12:45 pm to 3:15 pm
Wednesdays, 8:30 am to 11:45 am or 12:45 pm to 3:15 pm
Thursdays, 8:30 am to 11:45 am or 12:45 pm to 3:15 pm

Help adult immigrants learn English at Aquinas Literacy Center! Volunteer as a one-on-one tutor for just 90 minutes per week at 1751 West 35th Street in Chicago. You do not have to speak another language; all tutoring is in English.

Join us for our upcoming next tutor training 2-day workshop:

Friday, March 13th (6-9 pm) and Saturday, March 14th (9 am-4 pm)

  • Little Sisters of the Poor:

  • Women’s Center:

  • Providence Soup Kitchen:

Hours available Monday-Friday, 9:15 AM – 1:30 PM underneath St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Noble Street and Evergreen Avenue, contact Sr. Darlene through the website at  www.providence-soupkitchen.com.

  • Chicago Shares:
