Help Children of Uvalde, Texas

HELPING THE CHILDREN OF UVALDE, TEXAS

The children of Uvalde, Texas are beginning a new school year, forever changed by the events that transpired on their last day of class on May 24 at Robb Elementary School, where nineteen of their classmates and two of their teachers were shot and killed.

In response to this tragedy, Catholic Extension is partnering with Catholic leaders in Uvalde to promote healing among children and families after the unspeakable violence they witnessed.

Among the most pressing needs is tuition support for the students seeking to transfer to Sacred Heart Catholic School in Uvalde, since 80% of families with school age children are classified as low income in the community.

Today, 80 children from Robb Elementary are seeking to transfer to Sacred Heart to help begin their healing and overcome their trauma.

Eleven of those children were shot and survived the massacre in their classrooms.
