Have you been asked to be a godparent for a baptism? What a beautiful honor and responsibility! The role of a godparent is more than a ceremonial title—it is a lifelong spiritual commitment to support the faith life of your godchild through prayer, presence, and example.
If you are a registered parishioner of Old St. Mary’s and need a letter of eligibility to serve as a godparent (or sponsor for Confirmation), we are happy to provide that for you.
To request a letter of eligibility, please ensure the following:
-
You are a registered and active parishioner at Old St. Mary’s.
-
You are a fully initiated Catholic (i.e., you have received Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation).
-
If married, you are married in the Catholic Church.
-
You strive to live your faith in daily life and are willing to support your godchild’s spiritual growth.
To request a letter, contact Fr. Dan Macalinao, CSP at frdan@oldstmarys.com. Please allow a few business days for us to process your request. Thank you for your witness of faith and for saying “yes” to this meaningful role in the life of the Church.
